We live in a country rife with crime, changing weather conditions & less robust equipment. Add to this the growing tendency to be held accountable for damages you cause to third parties, and the need for plumbers insurance becomes obvious. Insurance costs a fraction of the price of replacing your projects and materials, or reimbursing the losses you caused to your client. Taking out plumbers insurance is a prudent way to ensure that your plumbing business will survive any sudden  unforeseen events.

Typical claims incurred on Plumbers Insurance policies

The most common claims on plumbers insurance policies involve theft of materials or materials being damaged whilst en route to site.  We also receive many claims where surrounding property is damaged whilst the plumber is on site.  The most expensive claims occur where parts of the project fail causing damage to client’s premises.  Specific examples are incorrect valves having being fitted or the correct valves being incorrectly fitted causing leakage which often ruins cupboards, carpets, wooden floors etc.

What other insurance should be considered along with Plumbers Insurance?

Most principals insist on liability cover being in place before they’ll even allow plumbers on to site. The good news is that our Plumbers Insurance will automatically include cover for Public Liability. We will also automatically include cover for Surrounding Property (this is often excluded on standard Contractors policies). We can also assist you if your principal requires a performance bond, employers liability insurance or general works insurance. We can also insure your tools, vehicle, laptop or whatever other assets assist you in your plumbing business.
